I met Chuck Moore today

I loaded the Wikihood app on my iPad over the weekend and fired it
up. It asked to use my current locations - why not. Up pops a list
of people in Incline Village of note. Larry Ellison, Mike Love, David
Coverdale. Michael Milken, David Duffield. Yawn. Wait, what's
this??? Charles Moore??? Nuh uh. No way. Couldn't be. Sure as $#!
^, Chuck Moore lives in Incline and has a company he started with a
few other Forth people (http://www.greenarraychips.com). Their office
is next door the the management company for our HOA! I was so
excited, I just dropped by their office and introduced myself. I felt
kind of stupid just walking in the door, but they gave me a whole demo
of their product and showed all the stuff they're working on. I was
about ready to fall on the floor yelling "I'm not worthy! I'm not
worthy!", but they are just a bunch of really nice guys with some
cutting edge ideas and some of the coolest circuit CAD tools I've ever
seen.

I know this isn't really Apple II related except that Forth was very
successful on the Apple II (in all its incarnations) and is still
relevant in embedded systems. Chuck's ideas ran counter to many of
the norms of the day, but in the end he was just trying to make an
environment that was productive for himself. His company is taking
the same simple ideas that embody Forth (and dare I say it, the Apple
II), and applying them in todays world for a more interesting future.
These are the kind of people that keep pushing things forward.

I just had to share,
Dave...
