Dave: I'm well aware that there are other OS's out there being used: OS2,
BeOS, Linux, etc. etc. I was not trying to ignore those, which after
all--are in the minority usage, but was only talking about the big two,
Apple and Microsoft, that currently dominate store shelves. With most
current users having to choose between the two of these (MS and Apple), my
choice will always be Apple. I will consider using the BeOS sometime in
the future as an alternative OS, though.
And my Macs also have NO Microsoft software on them. Clarisworks 4 does
the job of both MS Word, Works, and Excel for me and converted all previous
files done in MS applications quite nicely. I was then free to wipe MS off
my hard drive totally!
