GENOS Web Site - Mail 4

Hi All,

GENOS Web Site
==============

I have created an initial webpage for GENOS as part of my personal/company's
website.
It is at:

   http://www.alphalink.com.au/~zhulien/GENOS.htm

If any other individual/organisation would like to take over maintenance or
perhaps just mirroring this site, please contact me.

Project Coordination
====================

A couple of things I would like to make everyone aware of. Although I have
started this project, I am not the only person who is creating the ideas. I
am not the owner of the project - there isn't one owner, but currently the
driving force. Every individual/organisation involved in this project will
eventually be part owners - even the one's who critise a lot - cause their
critisisms are always listened to and can be constructive.

Resources are one area that can be risky - if you are intending to get returns
from your investment towards this project, there is not garauntee of that.
Many people are doing this for fun, for their own personal learning, for
ideas, for the possibilities of making the computing world a better one and
for gaining knowledge and understanding about operating system concepts and
different methods of implementing them.

On the GENOS Website, there are a couple of tables of people from the mailing
list and what roles within the project they have volunteered for. Currently
there are many 'Possible Programmers' but I would like to know if anyone
really would like to devote time to the project. Remember, nothing with this
project is a commitment, so if you intend to now, but change your mind, that
is OK. It is a 'commercial public' project. This project does not
discriminate anyone.

If you are not a programmer, but have asked to be on the mailing list because
you would like to contribute something, read the 'Resources Needed' section,
programmers only fall into a couple of the categories.

If you would like a particular role in this project and 'hope' to fulfill this
role, please let me know what it is. If there is a skill I have missed, let
me know.

The Next Stage
==============

Currently I am working on the VML\HAL specification - the BASIC principles
behind these will be sent out hopefully within this week for everyones
comments, opinions and critisms. Hopefully some simple theoretical example's
will also be given to demonstrate the usage of the HAL and VML.

Regards

Julian Cassin
