There's a quite interesting part of the American justice system
which states that the system ought to avoid punishing innocent
people, even at the expense of allowing guilty people to walk
free. One incarnation of this is the "innocent until proven
guilty" aspect, though there are certainly other ramifications
of that principle.

And while the Usenet is of course not bound by American ideals,
it is nevertheless interesting to note that it is an American
who would seem to be violating this principle: namely, Nathan
Mates.

Another interesting point out of all of this is that Nathan
will no longer be able to confidently flame people with the
"rtf FAQ" mantra, since there are many people out there who
by the very actions of Nathan cannot "rtf FAQ".

It would seem to be self-sabotage, as it were, by the very
king of flame wars to eliminate one of his favorite flames.

Both of these points are interesting, to say the least.
