That is interesting...and the ribbon cables are not connected to disk
drives?  VERY interesting...

The easiest thing to do, of course, is to take out the Disk ][ controller
and swap it for a controller with the DB-19 connector.  I mention this
simply because the DB-19 connector is somewhat difficult to come by...more
difficult, in fact, than the 5.25" Uni/DuoDisk Controller Card.

Another option would be to build up a cable...my time is too limited right
now to explain the exact procedure, but a listing of the drive cable
pinouts is available on Mates' FAQ site at...

That might help a little.

I'm trying to remember exactly how the drive connectors are inside the
DuoDisk...I'm pretty sure that the drive mechanisms have 20-pin header
connectors internally, which you *could* connect directly to the Disk ][
controller, but if you try that, you do so purely at your own risk, and if
you blow up your drive (very possible) or your computer (not likely), you
didn't hear it from me.  8-)
