Duellin' FAQtions: a solution?

I've been lurking here for one, count 'em, one day, and am already amazed...

I had an Apple ][+ from 1981 to 1984, when it was stolen. In 1995, via a
Japanese Mac magazine I found out about Stop The Madness (emulator on the
Mac), and was finally able to use all my old software again. Now, using IIe
(another emulator) I've begun the process of trying to dump all the games I
can onto a ProDOS hard disk image, so I can eventually access them easily
without juggling prodigious numbers of disk images. Since I had left the
Apple ][ world before ProDOS had made much of an impact, I've been trying
to figure out ProDOS from essentially step one. I've had some success, but
as the disk management utility I've been using is from 1988, I thought
perhaps there might be a newer version, or a better one might be
recommended by people with more experience than myself.
I did a web search, and found an old copy of the csa2 FAQ, and said, "hey,
I'll go get the latest version! And while I'm at it, for Apple ][
information that sounds like the place to be!"

And guess what I run smack dab into?

Now let me try to summarize the situation, from the point-of-view of
someone with no connection to any of the parties involved.

o The FAQ is not available.

o The FAQ is not just unavailable, it is apparently being held hostage
by, of all people, the FAQ maintainer himself!

o The FAQ maintainer seems to say that he plans to continue witholding
it until some person I've never heard of, one Mr. Turley, ceases to exist.

o This Mr. Turley has apparently been active (in one way or another) in
the Apple ][ community for several years, and so is unlikely to wink out of
existence anytime soon.

o The other denziens of the newsgroup range from participants in the
resultant brawl, to a handful of people showing mild concern that this
might be an unfortunate situation. And presumably the everpresent lurking
majority.
