Hey dipshit, the point of posting the tech note was to list some possible
cures. Composite SIMMs, speech recognition, and what not are still in use
today. But I suppose you didn't read down that far did you.

Post your findings after you try the cures listed in the note. Which, by the
way, is the only info you find in the TIL searching merely for the word
"floppy" and looking for articles dealing with 800K disks. Looks like no
one is complaining about problems with newer boxes.
