I dont know about the quantum's but I am running a similar Conner 1.08GB SCSI3
hard disk with the high density 50 pin wide connector trunked down to a 50
pin flat ribbon SCSI-II, which in turn feeds a 50 pin low-density
centronics SCSI connector (which gets trunked down to a DB25) and it works
great with a ramfast scsi (although mine is a very recent model). I dont think
that Rom01 is going to be an issue (although I have seen stranger things).
It is fast (much faster than a IIgs/RamFast SCSI anyhow) and it works like a
charm. However, there are some things for you to consider.
1 - Prodos only allows 32 meg partitions. Big problem when trying to manage
large drives.
2 - You can "try" to run HFS, but there are problems with partitions ~100Megs
or more. FWIW - I have been running a 750 meg HFS partition for several months
now without any real problems. I expect some corruption soon.
