Nathan isn't talking about removing the 65C816 from the TWGS card, but
rather removing the 65C816 from the GS motherboard so that the ribbon
cable from the TWGS can be connected to the GS CPU connector. It is not
necessary to remove the 65c816 from the TWGS (unless, of course, you are
doing a TWGS upgrade...) to install the TWGS into the machine.
