Checkmate Ram card info?

We recently acquired a Checkmate MultiRam IIe card,
apparently fully populated.
However, it seems to just be working as a 80 col 128k card.
I "formatted" the drive <3/2> but it formatted as 128k
Is there special software I need before the RAM will be recognized?
Could the ram be formatted as an additinal drive w/ that software?
Where could I get the software?
