Hello,

Pardon me, but I may I ask you a question about Apple II computers? I see
from your page that you are a current Apple II user. I am a New Mac user
but I will explain my dilemna.

I have a friend that has written a book some years ago on an Apple II+
using the program SuperText and saving file(s) on 5 1/4 floppies. This
friend no longer has the Apple II+ and cannot access the text.

Here are my questions if you haven't already guessed them:
Where would I look to find out if I can get this text converted to current
formats (e.g. simpletext, ascii, etc) so that he can edit. More simply, how
do we get the data from the 5 1/4 floppies to a HD or 3 1/2 floppies? Is
there a service that might do this?

I dont know if he would be willing to part with the disks but I know if
someone with a IIgs and a modem could simply read the files and send them
to my email address and that would be the end of it. Someone with a Apple
II and a null modem connection could simply send the files from the Apple
to another computer (PC or Mac) and save the files as ascii. The problem is
that we dont know anyone that would or could do that for us.

If you can direct me to a service that might do this or make a suggestion
that might help us I would appreciate it. Thank you for your time and
