Re: RAMFAST SCSI FATAL ME
Joreilly@smtp.Dorsai.Org outgassed these fumes:
JDO| RAMFAST SCSI FATAL MEMORY FAULT CODE = 0C
Have seen that one too. :)
JDO| I don't know why it got truncated. Nathan Mates posted an answer
| with the various error codes.
Haven't seen that one yet. It got truncated by my BBS's limit of 25
characters on subject lines, not anything you or anyone else did.
JDO| Did someone remark that she should not have been booting from a
| 3.5' drive or that she should have had a hard disk. I do not have
| RAMfast myself and would appreciate an explanation. I still don't
| quite understand what may have happened.
Okay, here's what I have to say:
If you are booting from a 3.5" and do not have a hard drive, there is no
point in having a RamFast in your computer. If you have the Control
Panel set to boot slot 5, there probably won't be any problems because
the computer isn't trying to read the card first, but when and if it
does the computer will get a wee bit confused.
The RamFast error msg just denotes that the computer looked at the card,
the card looked for a SCSI device, and it couldn't find one. Either
pull out the RamFast until you have a hard drive (or any SCSI device for
it to poll, actually), or get yourself a cheap SCSI hard drive so the
card will have a purpose (and work a lot faster/better/bigger than
booting off a 3.5" disk can do).
