I am not a 'grand' name in comp.sys.apple2, nor a huge notable
figure. Treasure Chest Project is all I can contribute to the Apple II
Community.
It's a labour of love for the computer, and I am not expecting a
monetary return for it. Just an extra piece of software that I can add to
my inventory. Though it is not an easy task, and if the author(s) or
publisher(s) are unwilling, there is nothing much I can do. For instance,
EGO Systems does not wish to, they have heaps of titles.
I would *love* to see Origin's and EA's titles being reclassified.
But they did not reply to me. If you can break into their barriers and
convince them to release it, think of it : Bard's Tale, Ultima, Skyfox,
Book of Moebius, Wind Walker, Omega, AutoDuel, 2400AD ...
Being in Australia I am already half crippled, coz the fact that
most of the authors and publishers are Americans. Thanks to the efforts of
those who contributed and are willing to help (the unsung heros of the
Treasure Chest Project), this has gotten going ... and thanks to the
InterNet as well for the ability to communicate.
Having Beagle Bros Software and Penguin Software in our archives
is really an achievement.
Spread the word around, if you know of an author of a piece of
software, it is no harm speaking to them and getting them to re-release it
back as a non-commercial product.
Regards.
