Actually, I rather like that part. But AFAIK it only applies to IE, and a
few other things. Their operating systems (and sometimes, application
software) are forcibly bundled with new computers, perhaps making them
appear "free" to end users; but the manufacturers still pay. (And if an
end user wants to upgrade, they have to pay quite a bit.)
