In answer to "What is with the recent rash of let's settle this
face-to-face posts", I think people are slower to make rash judgements
about people face to face. The impact someone has on another is
totally different in real life as opposed to behind a computer. People
act and say things a lot differently behind a computer. Talking from
the few people I have met originally behind the computer and then
later met in real life, your perceptions are usually very different.
Its one thing to read about someone. It's totally different to meet
someone. It is also a lot easier to have a proper discussion/debate
with someone face to face than through email, or especially newsgroup
posts that may take days to show up on other people's servers.
