CopyIIPC Option Board - Apple disks on a PC
I just obtained, at very reasonable cost, a Central Point CopyIIPC Option
Board. It appears, from a review of the docs, that this card, when installed
in a PC, WILL let the drives read and write Apple disks! It is specifically
set up for Macs, but certainly if it can handle Mac 400/800k disks (it says
it can), it should be able to handle Apple II disks.
Nathan, is this the rare piece of hardware that lets a PC use Apple disks?
BTW, it uses the PC's own drives, and installs between the disk controller
and the drives. It supposedly can copy other formats, and disks with copy
protection.
Has anyone ever used this? Was any software other than that provided by
Central Point written for this card? Is this the Holy Grail?
