The best bet is to look at the actual drive mechanism and see what
it says; as you note, you can change the mech without changing the model #
label on the case. I've never heard of people going to anything other
than the 5 or 10MB models without replacing the drive with something
less ancient like SCSI.

The interface for the Profile one of the really rare bidirectional
parallel cards built for the II or /// family; apparently, you may
need a chip or two swapped from the II version of this parallel
card. Check out comp.sys.apple2.marketplace and see if someone's got
one for sale. You may have much better luck acquiring a SCSI drive &
card.
