OK I took another look. Sure there's an overview of what Appletalk can do,
but there's no nuts-n-bolts type stuff. Like what a phonenet connector is
for instance. But there's naturally some editorial content about how Apple
didn't sell the etherTALK card. If you recall the discussion going around
at the time the card was in development, you remember that Apple types were
saying that it'd only support ethertalk and would not contain any hooks to
allow plain ethernet communication. It would have basically been a faster
version of localtalk. I'm doing a pretty good job of doing without such a
card myself since I have a router to go between localtalk and ethernet.

Bully for you. I dislike wintel out of *experience*. Like this week when
I won the office coin flip tournament and got a sound card to go in the box
on my desk. I was sitting there in amazement when I saw what it took to get
this thing to do more than just beep. I prefer my box at home with built in
16 bit audio in and out, and NTSC and S-video in and out built in on top
of that.
