I was told years ago when I was an active Apple II user in the local
user group, that Apple dumped most of its ROM 3s into the Australian
market, when they started pushing the Macs.

How far that rumour was I don't know, but I recall then, 2:1 Apple
IIGS user here I know owns a ROM3.
