Boy seems like about every III has the UV discoloration syndrome. I did the
scrub with Lava soap trick and got my III looking reasonably good. That's
the trick I use on all my old stuff. I would prefer a little discoloration
to having the plastic painted myself though. A little bit of discoloration
is to be expected on a 15+ year old box.
Actually, I've had some uncanny luck on old boxes I've gotten for my col-
lection. My Mac 128 and III plus are the original color, and of course my
Mac 512E and grey Plus which came in their original boxes look like new.
Even the ROM 0 Woz signature edition IIgs I found in a used computer store
a few months back only has a sunburn on one side and you have to really look
closely to notice it. I combined parts from three original IIIs to get a
presentable looking box though.
