Yo Steve,

I can give you two pointers. First, Bernie comes with pretty complete
documentation that you can either read on-line
(http://www.magnet.ch/emutech/Bernie/Documentation/ , choose "Storage") or
download as a whole (http://www.magnet.ch/emutech/Download). It includes
details on how disk images "work", what formats are supported and, of course,
how to deal with them in Bernie Warp 5.

Another source is the Apple II Emulation FAQ by Alex Maddison. I haven't been
able to find a recent version. Some information might be no longer valid (such
as the Virtual GS project), but still it covers a lot of disk image formats. I
can offer the following URL:

http://www.cs.ruu.nl/wais/html/na-dir/apple2/emulators-faq/

If that URL does not work, there's still a link to an older version from
www.emulation.net/apple2/ .
