IIGS monitor question - monitor and nintendo?

Over the past few weeks, I've heard that the IIGS RGB monitor can be used
with game consoles. Can the regular 8-bit nintendo be connected to the
IIGS RGB monitor? If so, how would I do it? I don't currently have a
monitor to use with this but if it can be done I would buy another.
