Try the uploads folder:  that's where most files lurk until the maintainer
gets around to putting them where they belong.

An advantageous scheme which I found on Ground is that all new files for
any certain month get a soft link in a special directory.  It certainly
beats going through the entire hierarchy each time you browse for new files.
