You have to hand it to them, the old C64 was marketed very well. I
remember the ads on TV that made parents think that any kid going to grow
up and go to college needed one of these. Talk about a guilt trip. Little
did they know that kids then were just like kids today and that even
today's super multimedia computers are used more as super game machines
than anything else. Just look at the software stores and see where the
sales volume is. Sure, Johnny and Jane can make a report for school, but
the systems pretty much just make it easier to plagiarize. Cut here, paste
there, done!
And have you ever seen a report run through the spell check? "Personnel"
where "personal" should be, "effect" where "affect" should be, "to" where
"too" should be. I know there are grammer checkers out there too, but
these seem to be rarely used.

Oh well. Time to get off the soap box.
