Here are three reasons: convenience, reliability and time. If you
have the EQUIPMENT and KNOWLEDGE and TIME and INTEREST to get stuff
off the Internet from various sites, fine. But if you just want to
get particular software AS ADVERTISED, already recorded on a 3.5"
disk, shipped to your door in a reasonable amout of time at a
reasonable charge, Joe will do it.

Not everybody has the equipment, knowledge, time and interest to
fight the problems of getting stuff off the Internet. It's easy for
some; it's not easy for all.
