Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) has tons of information. It is

   For official manuals, you may want to ask in the usenet group
comp.sys.apple2.marketplace, and see if someone wants to sell a
used copy.

   Source code for the OS? You must be thinking the GS is a unix
variant like *BSD or Linux, as those are about the only modern things
that come in source format. The latest release of the GS's System
software is version 6.0.1, and the full binary dist is 6 800K disks in
size, and is available for download from Apple's ftp site.

   Dev tools are also available; The Byteworks sells assemblers and
compilers; drop by http://www.hypermall.com/byteworks/index.html for
more details, including pricing.
