The ][ and ][+ had very similar looking nameplates...a nameplate right in
the center of the front of the lid, with the apple logo, and the phrase
"apple ][" written in that nifty Cupertino font. The ][+ had the word
"PLUS" printed in green right above the "][". Spelled out...it was not "][+".

(don't know about that one)

: -Were applesoft ROMs only put in the ][+ or did they also get put in the
: ][?

The ][ had Integer BASIC in ROM; the ][+ had Autostart ROM and Applesoft
BASIC in ROM. I know some people with Apple ]['s upgraded them so that
they effectively became ][+'s with a ROM transplant; also, both Applesoft
and Integer BASIC were available on ROM cards. The problem with using the
ROM card is that then you can't have a Language Card, which means that you
can't run Pascal or ProDOS. But you can have both BASICs.

(I've worked with both ]['s and ][+'s, but it has been a very long time)
