It does seem that web sites are tending to become more glamorous at
the cost of increasing the time required for obtaining useful
information. (Just recently, a poster who wants to surf the net was
concerned about upgrading a 166MHz Pentium!)
Many users would be happy to blow off the pictures, animation, and
stereo sound in return for slicing the time it takes to get to the stuff
they're looking for.
