Re: [ANN] DISASSOCIATION FROM USA2WUG, 1WSW

Willie Yeo <yeo@pigeon.qut.edu.au>

Affiliation with USA2WUG only. I had stated it in so many posts that my
affiliation was purely informational purposes only. In NO WAY, was any of those
above mentioned groups (USA2WUG, 1WSW or Charles Turley) involved in Treasure
Chest Project.

Now, as I have stated ... I will no longer be affiliated in any way any more.
What Charles Turley does never had any representation of me or otherwise, past,
present and future.

cturley@grin.net states:

In the interest of the Treasure Chest Project, I have removed Willie Yeo's name
from any association in any manner with USA2WUG - per his written and posted
request. Willie Yeo was never associated in any manner with 1WSW or with me as an
individual - in any manner.

Extortion and the threats of pulling support from the Treasure Chest Project by a
certain notable Apple II personality (I think we all know to whom I refer here)
is a low, vile, disgusting action and tactic to attempt. Not only has this certain
Apple II notable personality shown the lack of limits he will use to destroy
that which he does not understand or believe in - but, he's done this with email
campaigns in systematic order with many USA2WUG and 1WSW members - over the past
years. Of all the people associated with USA2WUG and 1WSW who have received
these extortion and threat emails from this notable Apple II personality - the
only one that has elected to disassociate himself from USA2WUG is Willie Yeo.

I normally don't post others email to me and rarely see any need for it.
but, I think this situation calls for all to see exactly what Willie Yeo had to
deal with and why he made the only logical decision he had available to remove
himself from any association with USA2WUG.

So read this email I just received today and think about it seriously!

I am not saying who it is at this point. It takes ONE person to
start bad sentiments, and it will be faster then expected if this person
is a notable person in the Apple II Community.

Only when he found out that I was a Founding Member of USA2WUG
that he withdrew his support, and decided to tell everyone to withdraw
their support for Treasure Chest Project.

Once again, I thank you for your inspiration and support. It is
only when you sorted after Milliken Software to get their software
re-classified, and I verified that and posted to csa2, I found out that no
one is keeping a list. That's why I posted to csa2 if anyone is interested
in keeping such a list, and since a few of them are interested in seeing
such a list, I volunteered some time to look into it.

As I said much earlier, I wasn't setting this up to challenge Lost
Classics. They seemed to have not much postings into csa2 even though they
have a good project starting there, I haven't heard them informing us, nor
did they seem to be having such luck locating author(s) and publisher(s)
recently in the past few years. As a person not on Genie, I have no idea
what they are up to (and so are many others).

Most of the time I ignore them. I did see what they posted on
their web sites. I am amused, but whatever you do, is none of my concern.

I am sorry I had to post that stern looking post on csa2. I have reasons to
believe that my membership with USA2WUG will jepordise with the Treasure Chest
Project, the effects are starting to be felt. I have to stay as neutral as can
be. Edhel or Mark would not have felt this. I just had to make it as though I am
being firm on that decision.

However, I will still retain a working relationship with you, since I do not
forsee that being any harm. Everyone reserves the right to accept and reject
facts and information, and so do I.

        Regards.

Well, Willie, I'll just say it for everybody to read and savor...I don't desire
any type of a working relationship with you now. If you can't work with me for
the good of the apple II community in public, I can't see any reason for your or
I to have any sort of a working relationship in private.

When such a person as the notable Apple II personality pulls such extortion
efforts power plays and threats as you've outlined to me in the above email, then
it's high time the entire Apple II community reevaluates this individuals logic and
motivation - for any good - period! I present the following series of questions for
public comment to you and everybody that reads this post;: Is such action needed or fair?
Can such a single person dictate such blatant power within the Apple II community with
extortion efforts and threats to withdraw support if you continue any association
with me, USA2WUG or 1WSW? Is this actually the state of negative status we now
have to deal with from you - Mr. 'Notable Apple II personality'? The whole matter
sickens me - when I think about it.

Mr. 'Notable Apple II personality' I hope you are real proud of your extortion
efforts and treats. That just shows what kind of a person you really are. Willie
Yeo is not the first you've pulled this tacky threat on and (knowing you as I
do), he won't be the last you try it on either. Mr. 'Notable Apple II
personality' you've been doing this sort of crap with virtually everybody that
expressed any association with me or my efforts in public for the past four years
now. It may work with a few, that have something valid and worthwhile to loose
with your withdrawing your support for their own individual efforts - if they
continue to associate with me in public. But, it simply won't work with the
majority of them. Why don't you use some common sense and logic - Mr. 'Notable
Apple II personality, go on about your closed circle of business and leave the
rest of us in peace - PLEASE! We simply DON'T need you telling us who we can and
can't associate with. Much as you'd like to think you do - you DON'T have that
kind of power in the Apple II community any more! And, neither does anybody else
either for that matter.

I might expect such an extortion attempt and threats from some organized crime
thug in South Philly or the Bronyx, but A2 is not the sort of community I'd
expect to see it continue in.

Anybody that has anything valid or useful to offer the Apple II community is a
notable Apple II personality and don't you forget it either! Don't be affraid
to express yourself in public. I'm not! I look forward to all comments concerning
this post from anybody with any interest in anything as stated.

Cheers,
Tom
