ImageWriter I technical help???

I got hold of an Imagewriter I on the weekend but Im having problems
getting it to work. It turns on ok and seems to get power (led's light
up etc so the fuse is ok...i also checked it). The print head doesnt
move though...returning to the left as most/all do. It acts as if a
lot of printers do when you dont have the cover on. I checked the
switch that makes sure it only works with the cover on and it seems
ok. Also the line feed and form feed buttons wont advance the paper.

Does anyone have any idea what may be wrong?? Thanks for any help.
