: I don't want to spread too much rumors, but I got my DeskWriter running via
: Appletalk... oh, and that's on my GS.
This is great news, but I'm not telling anyone & here is why.
I have pieced togther a network of 8 GS machines in my classroom;
all from donations from other schools.
The missing piece was a printer & I explained to admin & the tech comittee
that the _only_ driver that would work on the network was for a laser
printer.
As I had done so much w/ so little, a 3 way printer swap was done on
campus & my class got the LaserWriter, while the mac lab uses a bank of
HP inkjets!
So, shhh, don't tell anyone ;-)
You can visit our classroom website at the url below; we even have an
Apple II page (naturally)!
oh, one more thing -- we are still looking for a donation of slixtop or
bar none from GS softdisk to improve hard drive security.

p.s. the grovel on our page for a Laser donation is a few weeks old,
predating the solution mentioned above, but I haven't taken it down in
case a local group decides to help out: it never hurts to ask!
