Yes, beauty definitely varies depending on where you stand. I'm told that
the original II case was inspired by the Hewlett-Packard calculator
design. If you've ever had one of these, you'll see the resemblance.
Personally, I like the IIe case. I like the fact that the keyboard can't
fall on the floor (by itself), the fact that the top pops off so easily,
and the fact that there's a depression above the keyboard that was
seemingly included just so I wouldn't lose track of my pen. (I have a
similar fondness for the dashboard of a BMW 2002 for the same reason,
scaled up to include wallets, keys, and change, as well as pen).
