I missed your original post but thought I would share my experience. I
recently installed a CMS SCSI controller in a GS and connected it to a
Quantum 40 meg drive. I then had all kinds of problems with this setup.
The solution for me was to remove the terminating resistors from the
drive. Once I did this the drive worked perfectly. Don't know why but its
worth a try.
