There's a problem which comes up with ADT, even the older version, such as
MacADT. Here's how it goes:

If a disk is being transferred from the Apple II, and that disk has more
than X bad sectors, where X is usually some number greater than 4, then the
waiting server on the Macintosh end will stop waiting and instead say
transfer error. The result is that when the ADT client on the Apple has read
the part of the disk, it hangs when transmitting it, because the server is
no longer waiting for a response.

I was wondering if this is a time-out issue or some-such.
