Are we talking Apple II format (double or single sided, 13 or 16
sector), IBM format (multiple densities, etc), non-Apple II format, or
what? It does help if people are specific in what sort of information
they want, so that the answer can be properly provided.

Apple II 5.25" disks formatted in standard form hold either
113.75K/side (13 sector format, and rather rare), or 140K/side (16
sector format, by far the most common). Subtract OS overhead (varies
by OS) for usable disk space, flip the disk over for more space on the
other side, or try and squeeze on some more tracks (not recommended,
as is nonstandard and not guaranteed to work) for extra space.

5.25" disks for other platforms, go ask on the appropriate newsgroups.
