Apple to Pc comms

Hi

Weh ave an apple II with a serial board which we are attempting to connect u to a PC via the serial port. What pin connections should we have in the serial cable?
We have the pin outs for connecting 2 apples ( which i haven't tried yet) and were wondering if it was the same. We are trying to export a file to the PC which can then be inmported into a spread sheet.

We tried it with a cable that has 3 connections 2,3 crossed and 7 connected, but got nothing, we think this has something to do with the flow control.

Does any one have the correct pin assignments for apple to PC 25way to 25 way
