Apple also had a GS card for the LC at that time but refused to sell
it. My school district would have converted to Macs at that time but
stayed with our GS's due to this decision. We only buy PC's now.
A neighboring school district has been buying up Apple II's from
auctions and yard sales, working or not, to collect a trade-in that
Apple offers towards Mac purchases. They will probably go into a
hole in the ground at some landfill.
Will the Apple II outlast the company? Time will tell.
