I always thought that all localtalk devices on the entire network were 
in the same zone. I couldn't swear to it though since my little network
at home just got its first zones.

This is what I discovered. My router is configured such that the ethernet
Macs are in a zone named ethertalk and the printers and IIgs on localtalk
are in a zone named localtalk. Unless I switch my SE/30 file server to
localtalk, switching it to the localtalk zone, I can't boot from the server.

Makes no difference. My ROM 3 can't handle it. I expect the same if I got
out my //e and swapped the workstation card to slot 7 and tried to boot it 
too.
