Now testing - BSC-It 2.1
Status report...
Just received version 2.1a1 of BSC-It, the *fast* 8-bit
Binscii encode/decode and Base64 decoding utility. Pretty slick;
the improvements from last mention are that it auto-detects what kind of
encoding was used in a text, and uses that nicely with its Finder
support (click on the text's icon and away it goes!).
Hey Adalbert, I think I figured out one of your many problems
regarding using Base64 decoders! I believe it has something to do with
the encode's headers. Unsure exactly what BSC-It looks for in a header,
but when Tom emailed this new version to me (as a base64) I couldn't
decode it with the previous beta. Wound up borrowing the header from an
encode that *does* work for me and changing the pertinents (filename=,
boarder=) in order to get the new beta extracted -- and the new beta
didn't recognise the original base64 it came out either. :) Have told
Tom about this, and I think he said he's going to simplify how the
program figures if there's a base64 encode in a text.
