Davong HD card & SCSI cable question....

An email computer pal of mine sent me a Davong HD controller card and SCSI
cable, w/standard 50 pin end. It is not clear what computer this came out
of or what model and size of Davong HD it was originally attached to.
Can this be used in an Apple //gs or Apple //e? The card appears to be the
type that will fit in a //gs or //e slot. If so, does the HD need to be
Davong also (there is no name mention of Davong on either the card OR the
cable) for compatibility sake? Everything "looks" standard, but I don't
want to ruin either machine until I know it can be used with what, and used
safely.
Any info on this, please post or email. Thanks!
