The AOL v3.0 software on both Mac and PC do not provide normal access to
the Apple II Forum because they haved updated screens for the Mac forums,
but most of the older client software for both platform still get the
older screens which allow you to navigate in.

Fortunately, the AOL v3.0 software has a "favorite places" feature which
allows you to directly go to any screen on AOL that supports it.  Chances
are this is the method that was being referred to.
