There were a few hires programs for doing electrical schematics-- one
may have been called "Circuit Drawer". A company named Abraca-data
produces utlities of this kind. Perhaps they have a computer-aided circuit
design program for Apple II.
As for dedicated super-res GS wares, I do no know of any. An
object-oriented graphics utility, like Styleware's Top Draw, might work
well for producing relatively simple schematics.
Platinum Paint makes it fairly easy to re-size, move around, and
overlay objects (like inductor, resistor, IC logic symbols, ...) and Text
in 640 and 320 dot resolutions. There are some fonts which let you
'type-in' symbols. Using a font designer utility, you can modify existing
symbol fonts as well as develop your own. With symbol fonts and a good
electronics Clip Art library, doing low-moderate density diagrams via PP
is not especially difficult.
What you really want is a super-res 'circuit maker' which facilitates
component labeling, automatically handles signal line crossings, keeps
track of component ID's and diagram inputs/outputs, etc.; and, does all of
this on something like a 1280 x 800 scrollable workspace. Plus, you would
like a symbol+text spread sheet for defining each component. I'm pretty
sure such a utility is not yet available for IIgs.
