BSC-It status

Howdy, all! I've just received the seventh beta of BSC-It, the
encode/decode utility by 2qwk!'s Tom Larson. Not only does it do
Binscii's great (with the ability to set the number of distinct sections
per encode and the ability to set the encoding to 4k, 8k, and 16k
chunks, plus the obligatory linefeed toggle [Apple v Unix]) but --

         *** IT DECODES Base64 TEXTS!! ***

No, what I received doesn't encode into Base64, but you've gotta
start somewhere. It's not ready for release but should be soon. I'd
said publicly that he was going to release the Binscii-only version
then get to work on the new-and-improved but he changed his mind, so
when it comes out it will be the Binscii & Base64 version. FYI this is
an 8-bit program so it doesn't reside in RAM and works on //e's [which I
haven't tried to confirm so maybe I should not claim it does as yet].

(Coming soon if he can get coding info: addition of uu-coding. I'd
like to see it do BinHex as well since GSCII+ can do them. Any info on
how uuencoding/decoding or BinHex works, email to <ericlob@cris.com> --
and remember, Tom does ***not*** know C code, sorry.)

Details, info, status, etc, please email -me-.
