     Check the phone book for an Apple Users Group. Another try is a Mac 
Users Group (which may include several A2 users). If you can find no 
listings, call Directory Assistance for nearby area codes and ask for the 
number(s). Someone at one of the clubs should be able to help.

     There are a few places where Apple II supplies traditionally bomb:

the big silver power transistor-looking thing (which may well be a big 
silver HV darlington power transistor thing-- not sure),

the higher voltage electrolytic capacitors near the AC input side of the 
circuit board (these can develop shorts or be blown 'open'-- not too hard 
to check with an Ohm meter),

the GloBar resistor (a disk-shaped thing near the AC input-- these are 
supposed to suppress turn-ON line surge, then heat up and drop in 
resistance. Sometimes GloBars fracture without completely breaking. A 
cracked Globar could be a high, fixed resistance in series with the AC 
input).
