Try using Ant? A bit of simple Java glue for AppleCommander (assuming
John hasn't already done it) and you could use AC to build image files
straight from the ant build file...

It'd be trivial then to make a template one that'd work for most
simple Java projects, and ostensibly all practical vm02 projects.
