Not a flame, but I did call Quality Software in Newton as it is a local
call for me. They returned my call and said (on the answering machine)
that they have nothing to do with WordPerfect, and hope nothing would be
published saying that they did.
I have been playing phone tag with this spokesperson since, but have not
been able to speak further with the people at Quality. I do plan to do so
this week. It is in the best interests of all of us to have the facts
straight.
As for Nathan calling Scott G. an anonymous poster, I think the reason for
that is simple. Due to the way the email was posted (from a public library
apparently) we can't send email to you Scott. I myself tried.
You may have valid reasons for keeping your address private. Many folks
prefer it that way. But I am happy to have folks know my address, etc.,
and have made no secrets of who I am. So folks can at least verify that
what I say, and that I am who I say I am. Doesn't mean you aren't
truthful...just not verifiable. I would suggest that you send the letter
from Quality to someone who is more neutral and is well known in the A2
community, such as Ryan Suenaga (current editor of the Genielamp) or
Gareth Jones ...then they could help verify your claim, without bringing
about another "Dr. Tom vs. Nathan Mates" battle here.
