My! Someone seems a bit testy with the newbies...

I guess the real question which needs to be asked is one of the following:

1) How can one connect two modems together without an intervening TELCO?

2) Is it possible to make a *serial port* out of a <Insert name of old
   300/1200/2400 baud modem> modem?


Personally, I don't know the answer to either, but I suspect that the
recent rash of "Can I make a null modem our of a..." posts all stem
from one or the other.

So, Rubywand (or anyone else), care to answer those two questions?
