Someone else reported this problem with RH4.1 and gcc v.2.7.2.1.  (I
currently use RH3.0.3, kernel2.0.23, on an i586 with gcc v2.7.2 and
everything works just fine)

Luckly I was able to duplicate the problem on a friend's linux box
(i486, RH4.1, kernel2.0.27, gcc v2.7.2).

I also saw the same problem with versions 002 and 001 of the emulator
from ftp.apple.asimov.net, /pub/apple_II/emulators/apple2-emu-linux. 
(Can someone else confirm this?!).

I'll be working on this problem as time permits.  In the meantime, for
the brave, I suggest that you poke around with the post-processed code:

gcc -E apple2.S > apple2.E

The time-critical emulation parts are done in AT&T 386 assembly, the
rest is in C.  You shouldn't have to use anything other than make and
gcc to build it.
