That's correct; the files may of arbitrary size. You can also
compare arbitrary portions of the files. Consider two files with
sections as given below:
file 1: a x b y c
file 2: d x e y f
You can change the screen such that the common sections x and y are
shown as matching (try the OA key). Sections a - f can be of arbitrary
(including zero) length.
