This is probably a dumb question, but I should ask anyway...
Do you have a drive connected to the Drive 1 terminal? If the Disk ][
controller is in the highest-numbered slot with a boot device (or is in
the startup slot on a IIgs) and the card does not have a working drive #1
connected, it will hang the system at the splash screen on boot, since
there is no boot-timeout on the controller.
It's just a thought...I've been working with Apple ]['s since about 1981
and in that time I have only seen one bad drive controller...and it simply
wouldn't boot...it didn't hang the machine.
